Installation

Requirements

• CS-Cart or CS-Cart Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 – 4.21.x (tested on CS-Cart Ultimate 4.17.2 with PHP 8.1, Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 with PHP 8.1 and Multi-Vendor 4.21.2 with PHP 8.3).
• PHP 7.2.5 – 8.3 (as supported by your CS-Cart version).
• A theme based on Responsive, Bright or Nova.
• Stock tracking “by product” for products sold by a measure (the default). Tracking by warehouses is not used for these products.

Install

1. Go to Add-ons > Manage add-ons, click the gear icon and choose Manual installation.
2. Upload kv_fractional_quantities-1.0.0.zip and click Upload & install.
3. Enter your license key under Settings > License (or the Marketplace license number in Add-ons > Manage).
4. Open a product, go to the General tab and choose a Sale unit in the section Sell by weight, length, area or volume (below the quantity fields). Save.

The add-on creates one table with the measure settings and the exact stock of the products you sell by a measure. Products without a sale unit are not touched.

Upgrading

Upload the new package over the installed add-on (Add-ons > Manage add-ons > Manual installation) or use the Upgrade Center. Product settings and exact stock are kept; the add-on adds missing tables, settings and texts by itself after the files are replaced.

Disabling

While the add-on is disabled, products are sold in whole units again: the core quantity field comes back and new cart lines take whole quantities. Carts and orders that already hold a decimal quantity keep it. Turn the add-on on again and everything continues where it stopped.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling removes the add-on’s table, settings and texts. Before the table is removed, the In stock value of each product sold by a measure is set to its exact stock rounded down (8.750 kg becomes 8), so nothing is oversold afterwards. Orders keep their lines: the quantity “1.250 kg” stays in the order data, and the line price stays the exact price.
