Canvas is the tile-composer flagship theme for CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor. Its home page is a board of tiles: every Block Manager block is a tile whose size (small, medium, large, extra large, wide, two rows tall) and colour (paper, sand, mist, sage, ink, accent, clear) you pick in the block settings, without code. The board reflows by itself from 12 columns on desktops to 6 on tablets and 2 on phones. Tiles made for the board show your real catalogue: count tiles with the number of products per department, a product tile with price, timer and add-to-cart, stat tiles and a help desk. One design for every kind of store; the demo is a technology store.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”- The Canvas theme, a child of the standard Responsive theme: no core files are changed and add-on hooks keep working.
- The tile composer: a Canvas tile board switch in the grid settings and Canvas tile size / Canvas tile colour pickers in the block settings of Design > Layouts, saved in the stock “User-defined CSS class” field.
- Eight colour schemes on a warm studio board, each with four tile tints plus an ink and an accent tile: Gesso (cobalt, default), Matcha, Fresco, Gouache, Marina, Sherbet and the dark schemes Blackboard and Charcoal. Text contrast is 4.5:1 or more on every tile colour of every scheme.
- Parkinsans display type with bold numerals and Host Grotesk for text.
- Three home layouts: Main (Canvas) (hero, product tile, stat tiles, count tiles, product tiles, deals, journal, numbered tile headings), Mosaic home (image-led: hero, offers, category image tiles, trending) and Index home (no hero, count tiles first, dense product rows for large catalogues).
- Multi-Vendor: seller line on cards, styled vendor pages.
- Sticky header, mobile bottom bar, swipe gallery, filter sheet and sticky buy bar on phones.
Compatibility

- Tested on CS-Cart 4.17.2 (Ultimate) and Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 on PHP 8.1; templates compiled with Smarty 5 against 4.21.2.
- PHP 7.4 to 8.3, depending on your CS-Cart version. No visitor data is printed into the page, as the 4.21 full page cache requires (the full page cache itself was not run in our tests).
