What it does

For CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor stores selling in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru or Uruguay. Integrates with Mercado Pago Checkout Pro: customers pay on the Mercado Pago page with cards and installments, account money, Pix, boleto, OXXO and other local methods. Card data never reaches your server.

You use your own Mercado Pago seller account; Mercado Pago charges its own fees. Made by Kavio Labs, not affiliated with or endorsed by Mercado Pago.

What it changes for your store

Every payment is read back from Mercado Pago before an order changes; signed notifications are checked.
Unpaid boleto, OXXO and Pix orders stay open, never cancelled, and turn paid when the money arrives.
The cart is emptied on a pending return, so nobody pays twice.
Refunds carry an idempotency key. A retry is never a second refund.
Unpaid vouchers are cancelled with the order.
Lost notifications are recovered by the return and a recurring check.
Failed calls retry by themselves and are logged.

How it works

Admin

Choose your account's country, enter the test Public key, Access token and secret signature, run Test connection, then add a payment method with the Mercado Pago processor (statement text, installments, hidden payment types, days to pay vouchers). Go live with the production credentials.

Shopper

Picks Mercado Pago, pays on the Mercado Pago page and returns to the order; a voucher shows its link.

Admin

Refund or cancel from the order's Mercado Pago tab.

Mercado Pago Checkout Pro (Preferences API) payment method for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay: the customer pays on the Mercado Pago page (cards with installments, account money, Pix, boleto, OXXO and the other methods of the account) and returns to the order.
Charges in the local currency of the account's country (ARS, BRL, CLP, COP, MXN, PEN, UYU; CLP and COP as whole pesos); other store currencies are converted with the store's rate. The method is hidden when the store cannot charge that currency.
Notifications checked with the x-signature secret signature (HMAC-SHA256 manifest); every payment is read back from Mercado Pago (payment, or the merchant orders of the preference) before an order changes. Lost notifications are recovered by the customer's return and a recurring check (35 days for vouchers).
Pending payments (boleto, OXXO, Pix codes, reviews) open the order (configurable status) and are never shown as cancelled; the customer's cart is emptied on the pending return (also the saved cart of a signed-in customer) and the voucher link is shown. Rejected cards leave the order alone so the buyer can retry on the same page.
Several payments per checkout (a retry after a rejection, two cards): the order is paid when the whole amount is in.
Money that does not match the order (duplicate attempt, different amount or currency, order total edited while pending) is booked and flagged; the order is not marked paid.
Full and partial refunds from the order page and at a chosen order status, with X-Idempotency-Key, reserved before the call and repeated with the same key after an unclear answer; refunds are spread over the payments of a checkout.
Cancellation of unpaid vouchers at Mercado Pago from the order page and when the order is cancelled.
Payment method settings: title, card statement text (13 characters), maximum installments, hidden payment types, days to pay vouchers and Pix, binary mode.
Multi-Vendor: one marketplace account (a cart of several vendors is one payment; each vendor order refunds its own share) or one account per vendor; refunds and cancellations are a privilege of the account holder.
Connection page with encrypted Access token and secret signature, country, test and live mode and a connection test that lists the account's payment methods.
Uninstall keeps the payment records, refunds and the connection unless "Permanently delete all payment records on uninstall" is on.

Which countries and currencies work?

Argentina (ARS), Brazil (BRL), Chile (CLP), Colombia (COP), Mexico (MXN), Peru (PEN) and Uruguay (UYU), the countries where Mercado Pago offers Checkout Pro. The checkout charges in the local currency of your Mercado Pago account; your store needs that currency (primary, or a second currency with an exchange rate). CLP and COP are charged in whole pesos.

Do I need a contract with Kavio Labs or a special Mercado Pago plan?

No. You use your own Mercado Pago seller account and the credentials of your own application. Mercado Pago's own fees apply.

Which payment methods do my customers see?

Whatever Mercado Pago offers for your account and country on its page: cards with installments, account money, Pix, boleto, OXXO and other cash vouchers, bank transfer. You can hide payment types and limit installments in the payment method settings.

Why is an order "Open" and not paid?

The customer chose a voucher or Pix code and has not paid it yet, or Mercado Pago is reviewing the payment. The order is never shown as cancelled for that. As soon as Mercado Pago reports the payment, the order is marked paid. Unpaid vouchers expire (the days you set, or Mercado Pago's default); Mercado Pago cancels payments that stay pending for 30 days, and the order is then cancelled.

Can I cancel an unpaid voucher?

Yes: the order tab has Cancel pending payment, and cancelling the order cancels its pending voucher at Mercado Pago.

Can I refund part of an order?

Yes, from the order page, as often as you like up to the amount paid (Mercado Pago accepts refunds within 180 days of approval and needs balance in your account).

What if a notification gets lost?

The customer's return, the cron job and the "Check status now" button read the payment back from Mercado Pago. Pending vouchers are checked for 35 days.

Do I have to configure the webhook in Mercado Pago?

No, every payment sends its own notification address. We recommend it anyway, to get the secret signature: then every signed notification is checked.

Does it work with Multi-Vendor?

Yes. In marketplace owner mode one Mercado Pago account collects all payments and each vendor order refunds only its own share; with owner mode off each vendor connects their own account.

Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?

Yes. The notification address and the return page are never cached.

Is the add-on available in other languages?

The add-on ships in English. CS-Cart fills your store's other languages from the English texts, and you can translate them in Administration > Languages.
