What it does
Urgency & Social Proof Kit adds honest social proof to product pages, product lists and the cart: recent buyers in a period you choose, other shoppers viewing the product now, low stock with a bar, a countdown to the real end of a promotion and optional recent-purchase toasts. Every number is read from your orders, stock, promotions and anonymous page signals when the page is shown. Nothing is invented or rounded up. For any CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor store that wants more conversions without fake tricks.
How it works
Install the add-on and the product pages show what is real right away. Choose per element whether it is shown, the period, the minimum, the threshold and your own wording; pick the position on the product page, the badge corner in lists, the accent colour and excluded categories or products. A countdown appears when a CS-Cart promotion with an end date applies to the product or the cart. Recent-purchase toasts are off until you switch them on; customers can opt out in their profile. Reduced motion and screen readers are respected.
Features
Recent buyers: distinct customers in 24 hours to 30 days, from orders in your chosen statuses
Low stock: real stock of tracked products at or below your threshold, with a stock bar
Viewers now: other shoppers with the product open, from anonymous signals, bots ignored
Countdown to the real end date of a promotion, on the product page and in the cart
Recent-purchase toasts from real orders, anonymous by default, customer opt-out
Minimums for every number, so small numbers are never shown
One badge per product in category, search and block lists
Own wording, position, list badge corner, accent colour, exclusions
Full page cache safe: no numbers in cached pages
Respects reduced motion; accessible toasts and countdown

Can I show bigger numbers to create more urgency?
No, on purpose. Every number is real. If a product has fewer buyers or viewers than your minimum, nothing is shown. Fake counters and fake countdowns are banned in the EU and other markets and damage trust once shoppers notice.
Why does a product show nothing?
There is nothing real to say yet: fewer recent buyers or viewers than the minimum, stock above the threshold (or not tracked), and no promotion ending within the countdown window. Also check the excluded categories and products.
Why is there no countdown for my sale?
The countdown needs a promotion with an end date (Marketing → Promotions → Available till) that applies to the product for this shopper, and the end must be within the configured number of days (3 by default). Prices set as a "list price" without a promotion have no end date and show no countdown.
How is "viewers now" counted? Is it legal under GDPR?
An open product page sends a small signal once a minute. The add-on stores an anonymous code (a one-way hash of IP address and browser with a key that changes daily), the product and the time, and deletes it after an hour. No cookie is set and nothing identifies a person. The shopper himself is not counted, and bots are ignored.
Do I need consent for the recent-purchase toasts?
They show real orders with at most a first initial and a city. Mention them in your privacy policy; customers can opt out in their profile. For the strictest setting choose Customer shown as: "Someone" and switch off Show the city.
Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?
Yes. Pages carry no numbers. Each page asks the store once for its numbers, so cached pages stay shared and every shopper sees current data.
Does it slow down my store?
One small request per page (a few indexed queries) and, on product pages, one tiny request per minute while the tab is visible. Nothing runs when the add-on is switched off.
My theme already shows "Only 3 left". Will it show twice?
Switch off Low stock → Badge in product lists or the theme's / other add-on's label, and choose a free image corner in Badge position in product lists.
What happens if the license lapses?
Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), all urgency and social proof messages are hidden and viewer pings are no longer recorded. Your settings and your customers' opt-outs are kept. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Urgency & Social Proof Kit: the License card at the top says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it on the License tab and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, .local, .test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse or check out.
