What it does
For stores that sell to businesses as well as consumers. CS-Cart lets customers request a user group with one click, without company data or checks. This add-on adds a real trade account application: company, registration and VAT number, business type, address, expected volume, your own questions and documents such as a business licence. New visitors apply and create their account in one step. Works on CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 to 4.21, with marketplace-level trade accounts on Multi-Vendor.
How it works
The buyer opens the trade account form from the account menu, the registration page or a block. The VAT number is checked live with VIES; an outage never blocks the application. You get an e-mail and a notice, review the application under Customers, Trade applications, and approve, decline with a reason or request more information. The customer gets an e-mail and sees the status on the Trade account page. Hide prices from non-trade visitors with our B2B Request a Quote add-on.

How is this different from the user group request in CS-Cart?
CS-Cart lets a signed-in customer request a user group with one click. You see only the request, without any company data, documents or checks, and there is no reason, no e-mail flow and no way to ask for more information. This add-on adds a full business application with VAT check, documents, a review queue and decisions with e-mails.
Does the VAT check cost anything or need an account?
No. VIES is the free public service of the European Commission. The add-on needs no key or registration.
What happens when VIES is down?
The application is accepted anyway and the number is marked "VIES unavailable". Open the application later and click Check again with VIES. Even in strict mode only numbers that VIES definitely reports as invalid are refused.
Which VAT numbers are checked?
EU VAT numbers of the 27 member states and Northern Ireland (XI). Other tax IDs (for example US EINs or UK VAT numbers) are stored and shown to you, marked "Not an EU VAT number".
Where are the documents stored? Are they safe?
In var/custom_files/kv_b2b_registration/, under random file names, outside the public folders. They are never linked on the storefront; only administrators with the view privilege can download them. Script files disguised as documents are refused.
How do trade customers get their prices?
With core CS-Cart: give your trade user group its own prices on the product's Pricing tab or in your price import. When an application is approved, the customer joins the group and sees those prices when signed in.
Can I hide prices from everybody who is not approved?
Yes, with our B2B Request a Quote add-on: hide prices from Guest and Registered. Trade customers see prices; everyone else can request a quote.
Can one customer belong to several groups?
Yes. Tick several user groups on the approval form.
Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?
Yes. Links and the block are the same for every visitor, and the application pages are never cached.
What happens if the license lapses?
Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), the trade account form, its links and the call-to-action block are hidden and no new applications are accepted. Existing trade customers keep their user groups, applicants can still see their status, and you can still review and decide applications in the admin panel. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → B2B Registration & Approval: the License card at the top says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it on the License tab and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, .local, .test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse, apply or check out.
Add a released add-on to this order and save 15% on it. It uses the same edition and store domain.
