What it does
Gift Wrap & Gift Messages adds a "This order is a gift" box to the checkout. Customers choose one of your gift wraps for the package or for single products, write a gift message with From and To names, and can ship to another address. The order, the invoice and the e-mails show the gift wrap line and the message, and you print a gift receipt without prices for the parcel. For gift, fashion, jewellery, toy and home stores and for marketplaces where every vendor wraps its own package.
How it works
In Orders, Gift wrap options you add wraps with name, picture, price, taxes and the categories or products they are offered for. At checkout the customer switches on the gift box, picks a wrap per package or per product, writes the message and ticks Send to someone else. The totals update at once. The admin order page shows the gift panel with an editable message and Print gift receipt. On Multi-Vendor each vendor sub-order gets its own wrap and fee, and vendors print the receipt in their panel.

Gift wrap options managed in Orders > Gift wrap options: name, description, image, price, taxes, position, status and availability for all products, selected categories or selected products.
"This order is a gift" box at checkout: a wrap per package (Multi-Vendor: per vendor package), per product or both; gift message with a character limit; From and To names; "Send to someone else" using the core shipping and billing addresses.
Wrap fee as a separate, taxed line of the order total (included in percentage payment surcharges), shown in the cart, checkout, customer and admin order pages, the order editor, invoices and order e-mails.

Is this the same as CS-Cart gift certificates?
No. Gift certificates are vouchers customers buy and redeem. This add-on wraps physical orders, adds a gift message and prints a gift receipt without prices. Both can be used in the same order.
Where is the wrap price in the order?
It is a separate Gift wrap line in the order total, like a payment surcharge. It is not added to the product prices, so product discounts do not change it, and it is not a hidden product in your catalog.
Are taxes calculated on the wrap?
Yes, with the taxes you select on the wrap. A tax that is included in the price is shown as included; other taxes are added on top. Tax-exempt customers pay no tax on the wrap.
Does a percentage payment surcharge include the wrap?
Yes. CS-Cart calculates the payment surcharge from the order total, which already contains the wrap.
Can customers add a message without a wrap?
Yes. They switch on This order is a gift, keep No gift wrap and write the message. No fee is added.
How does "Send to someone else" work?
The recipient's name and address go into the shipping address, and the customer's own address into the billing address. These are the address fields CS-Cart checkout already has; the add-on only explains it and switches on the separate billing address.
Can I print a packing slip without prices?
Yes: the gift receipt. Open the order and click Print gift receipt (admin panel and vendor panel). Customers can print it from their order page too (setting).
What happens on Multi-Vendor?
Each vendor package gets its own wrap choice. When the order is split, each vendor sub-order carries its own wrap fee and taxes, and vendors print the gift receipt of their own orders.
I changed the price of a wrap. Do old orders change?
No. Every order keeps the wrap name and price it was placed with, also when you edit the order later.
Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?
Yes. The gift options are only on the checkout page, which is never cached. The product page note is the same for every visitor.
What happens without a valid license?
Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), customers can no longer choose gift wrap or write a gift message at checkout, and no wrap fee is added. Orders already placed keep their gift details, gift receipts and totals. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Gift Wrap & Gift Messages: the License card at the top says what is wrong. Fix it on the License tab and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, .local, .test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse or check out.
Add a released add-on to this order and save 15% on it. It uses the same edition and store domain.
