What it does
Product Questions & Answers adds a customer Q&A tab to every product page of CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor. Guests and customers ask about size, compatibility or battery life; your team, the vendor of the product or customers who bought it answer, and the answer stays on the page for every future shopper. For stores that get the same pre-sale questions by e-mail and chat every week, and for marketplaces whose vendors know their products best.
How it works
The customer clicks Ask a question in the Questions and answers tab, types the question and, as a guest, the name and e-mail. The question waits in Products, Product questions, or is published by your rules. You or the vendor answer on the question page; the answer is published and the customer gets an e-mail. Verified buyers can answer too. Shoppers vote answers as helpful, search and sort. A block shows the latest answered questions anywhere.

Is this the same as product reviews?
No. Reviews rate a product after buying it; questions are asked before buying. The add-on keeps them apart and works next to the core Product reviews and Comments and reviews add-ons.
Who can answer questions?
The store (administrators) always, the seller of the product on Multi-Vendor, and, by setting, customers who bought the product or all signed-in customers.
Do questions appear immediately?
By default every question waits for moderation. You can publish questions from signed-in customers, verified buyers or everyone automatically; entries held by the spam guard (too many links, blocked words) always wait.
How do you stop spam without a captcha?
A hidden honeypot field, a minimum fill-in time, limits per IP address and e-mail, duplicate detection, a link limit and blocked words. Bots are dropped silently. For a captcha as well, use Kavio Captcha Pro or the CS-Cart image verification (Google reCAPTCHA).
Does it help SEO?
Answered questions are added to the product page as FAQPage structured data (up to 10), and the questions are part of the product page text. Search engines decide whether they show rich results.
Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?
Yes. The Q&A is the same for every visitor, the per-visitor parts load in the background and cached pages refresh when a question changes.
Can guests vote twice?
Each browser votes once per answer; a guest who clears cookies on the same connection is still recognized by the combination with the IP address. Votes are limited to 60 per hour per IP address.
What happens to questions when a customer account is deleted?
The questions and answers stay, without the name, e-mail and account link.
I used Photo & Video Reviews for questions. Do I lose them?
No. Move questions and switch its Q&A off on the Product questions page copies them, including answers and helpful votes.
What happens without a valid license?
Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), the Q&A tab, block and structured data and the ask, answer and vote forms are switched off on the storefront; existing questions and answers are kept and can still be answered and moderated in the admin panel. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Product Questions & Answers: the License card at the top says what is wrong. Fix it on the License tab and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, .local, .test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse or check out.
