Pay by Link & Pay After Confirmation: overview1 of 15
What it does
Pay by Link adds Orders, Payment links. Create a link for an order that is not paid yet, for any amount with a description, or for a cart of products with fixed or store prices and an optional shipping charge. Set an expiry date, single or multiple payments, the allowed payment methods and, if needed, the customer account that must sign in to pay. With pay after confirmation, a link is created and e-mailed when an order gets the status you choose. For CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 to 4.21.x.
How it works
Open Orders, Payment links and click New payment link, or choose Create payment link on an unpaid order. Pick the kind, fill in the amount or products, the expiry and the payment methods, and save. Copy the URL, download the QR code or e-mail the link. The customer opens the pay page, checks the summary, enters contact details if needed, picks a payment method and pays. The link moves from created to opened to paid, and your orders department gets an e-mail when it is paid.

Payment links of three kinds: existing unpaid order, custom amount with description, prepared product cart (fixed or store prices, optional shipping charge).
Link rules: expiry date, single use or several payments (maximum or unlimited), customer account binding, allowed payment methods.
Pay page with order summary, contact and address fields, the store's payment methods and payment fees, result after the payment and retry on failure; never cached, keeps the shopper's own cart.
Orders are placed and paid with core functions (repay logic for order links, server-side cart and order placement for amount and cart links).
Sharing: URL with copy button, QR code (SVG download), e-mail with an editable template.
Pay after confirmation: automatic order link and e-mail on chosen order statuses.
Status tracking (created, opened, paid, expired, cancelled), history per link, list with tabs, search, filters and CSV export, links on the order page, e-mail to the orders department when a link is paid.
Security: signed random tokens, hashed storage, rate limits, server-side amounts and prices, company scope checks.
Multi-Vendor vendor panel (own orders and products, can be switched off); Ultimate storefront scope.
Developer hook kv_pay_by_link_paid.
Domain-bound license check and self-healing upgrades.
Tested on CS-Cart 4.17.2, Multi-Vendor 4.21.2, Multi-Vendor 4.17.2. First release.
Which payment methods can customers use?
Every active payment method of your store: online gateways (card payments, wallets, installment providers) and offline methods. You can limit each link to some of them. The add-on does not process payments itself, so no extra gateway account is needed.
Does a custom amount link add taxes or shipping?
No. The customer pays exactly the amount you entered (plus a payment fee if the chosen method has one). Use a product cart link if you need taxes calculated by your tax rules.
When is a link "paid"?
When the order of the link enters one of the statuses chosen in Order statuses that mark a link as paid (default: Processed and Complete). Payment gateways set them after a successful payment. For offline methods (bank transfer, phone ordering) set the status yourself when the money arrives.
Can a customer change the amount?
No. Amounts and fixed prices are read from the link on the server when the order is placed. Nothing the browser sends can change them.
What if the customer already has products in their cart?
Nothing happens to them. The pay page uses its own cart for the order and keeps the visitor's shopping cart as it was.
A payment failed. Does the customer need a new link?
No. As long as the link is valid, the customer can open it again and try another time or another method. A single-use link re-uses the order of the failed attempt.
Can I send one link to many people?
Yes: choose Several payments with a maximum or unlimited. Each payment creates its own order.
Is it safe to send links by chat or SMS?
The link contains a long random code with a signature that cannot be guessed; repeated guessing is blocked. Anyone with the link can pay it, so for sensitive cases tick Only this customer account can pay: then the customer must sign in first.
Does the pay page work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?
Yes. The pay page is never cached and prints only the data of its own link.
What happens if the license lapses?
Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), new payment links cannot be created or sent and no automatic links are created. Links you already sent keep working, payments in progress complete normally and are recorded, and the link list stays available. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Pay by Link & Pay After Confirmation: the License card at the top says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it on the License tab and click Check now. See License.
Does my staging or development store need its own license?
No. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, .local, .test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Nothing changes for you at once. The add-on keeps working for 14 days without a successful check and shows a notice in the admin panel; it checks again every hour.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, never while customers browse or pay.
Add a released add-on to this order and save 15% on it. It uses the same edition and store domain.
