How licensing works
The same terms for every Kavio Labs add-on, in plain English. The full legal text is in the license agreement.

Editions and prices
One license covers one CS-Cart installation. Ultimate editions cover every storefront of that installation. Example: Product Videos Gallery.

Updates and renewal
Every license includes 12 months of updates and support. You can choose 24 months (+40%) or 36 months (+70%) at checkout. Updates arrive in Administration → Upgrade Center and are also available as downloads in your account.
When the period ends, nothing on your store changes. You keep every version released during your period and can reinstall it at any time. Renewing costs 50% of the current price and adds 12 months from the day the old period ended, or from today if it ended more than a year ago. We email you 30, 7 and 0 days before the end date.
Domains and staging
Each license is bound to one base domain: the domain you enter at checkout, for example example.com. It covers every subdomain of it (www.example.com, shop.example.com, staging.example.com). A store on a different base domain needs its own license.
Development and staging never count against a license. Subdomains of your licensed domain and local development hosts work without being added: localhost, 127.0.0.1 and other private IP addresses, and host names ending in .localhost, .test, .local, .example or .invalid. Public IP addresses are not development hosts. If your staging copy runs on another public domain, our support can add it to the license free of charge.
There is no self-service domain change. If you mistyped the domain or move your store to a new domain, open a ticket and we correct or move the license.
License check
The add-on checks with our server that its license is valid for your store's domain: when you save the key, then once a day, only from the admin panel or a cron job. Storefront requests never wait for it. It sends the license key, the add-on ID and version, your storefront host names, your CS-Cart version and edition, and a random one-time value. No customer, order or personal data. Answers are digitally signed. Details: Privacy policy.
A new installation works for 14 days before a key is needed, and if our server cannot be reached the add-on keeps working for 14 days. Without a valid license the add-on switches its own features off safely: no error, no message to your customers, your checkout keeps working and your settings are kept. When the update period ends, the add-on keeps working. The code is still not encoded and contains no usage tracking.
Refunds
If an add-on does not work for you, ask for a refund within 30 days of your first purchase of that add-on, from your account or by ticket. No questions. The license is deactivated when the refund is issued. Renewals, installation and customization work are not refundable once delivered. Full terms: Refund policy.
Bought on the CS-Cart Marketplace?
Use your Marketplace license number as the license key: enter it in the add-on's License tab, or in Add-ons → Manage add-ons. It is bound to the domain on which it is first checked. Updates arrive through the Upgrade Center, and our help desk supports Marketplace buyers the same way.
