What it does
For stores that publish guides, news and stories and want the blog to sell. Blog Pro works with your existing core blog posts: nothing to migrate, and the core editor, comments and tags keep working. A new tab in the post editor sets categories, the author, featured status, publish date and time, products and related posts. Categories, tags and authors get their own pages with SEO URLs, and the blog list shows cards with image, excerpt and byline.
How it works
Create categories and complete author profiles, then open a post and fill in the Blog Pro tab. Shoppers see the post with a byline, reading time and a table of contents, the products under the text, the author box, related posts and the comments. Category, tag and author pages list the posts with pagination and an RSS feed. Scheduled posts appear at the chosen minute. In Multi-Vendor, vendors write posts for their own products and you can approve them first.

Do I have to move my posts to a new blog?
No. Blog Pro works with the posts you already have in Website → Blog. On installation it creates a profile for every existing author and keeps your dates, images, tags and comments. Uninstalling leaves your posts as they are.
Does it replace the core comments?
No. Comments stay the core Comments and reviews add-on: you switch them on per post in the core editor, and they are moderated as before. Blog Pro shows the number of approved comments in the byline.
Where do tags come from?
From the core Tags add-on (the Tags tab of the post editor). Blog Pro shows them under the post and gives every tag a blog page. If the Tags add-on is off or tags for pages are disabled, the tag chips, tag pages and the tag cloud are not shown.
Can a post be in several categories?
Yes. Tick as many as you need and choose the main one. The post appears on every category page; the main category is used for the breadcrumbs, the first label on the card and the structured data.
How do I put a product into the text?
Type [product id=12] on its own line, with the product ID from the product list. For products under the post use Shop the post in the Blog Pro tab.
Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?
Yes. Every page depends on its URL only and is cached for guests as usual. The view counter for popular posts is a small script that runs after the page has loaded, so cached pages are counted too.
Will search engines see two article markups with SEO Pro Suite?
No. Blog Pro enriches the article item of SEO Pro Suite (same item), adding the author as a person, categories, keywords and word count. Without SEO Pro Suite, Blog Pro adds the item itself.
Why are tag pages "noindex"?
Tag pages often list the same posts as your categories. Keeping them out of search results avoids thin and duplicate pages. Turn on Let search engines index tag pages if your tags are curated.
Can vendors write posts?
Yes, in Multi-Vendor, once the Blog item of the vendor panel menu is on for them. They pick their own products and authors from their team. With Vendor posts need approval, new vendor posts stay hidden until you approve them.
Is CS-Cart (Ultimate) supported?
Yes. Settings, categories and author profiles can differ per storefront, and SEO names are created per storefront.
What does uninstalling remove?
The add-on's tables (categories, author profiles, post data, view counts), settings, language variables, author photos, SEO names of categories, tags and authors, its layout pages and blocks. Posts, post images, tags and comments stay.
What happens if the license lapses?
Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), blog posts stay visible as core blog pages; categories, tags and author pages, the table of contents, related products and posts, RSS feeds, the Blog Pro blocks and the extra structured data are hidden. Your data stays and can be edited. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Blog Pro → Settings → License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.yourstore.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, .local, .test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
No. The check runs in the admin panel or from cron, once a day. The storefront never runs it.
