What it does
For UK shops and marketplaces that ship with Royal Mail. Click & Drop is Royal Mail's online shipping service for businesses; the add-on connects to it with your own API key. Checkout shows Tracked 24, Tracked 48, Special Delivery and International Tracked methods. Because Click & Drop has no live rate quote, the prices come from a table you maintain per service, zone and weight.
How it works
Paste your Click & Drop API key and test the connection. Enter your prices on the Rates tab and add Royal Mail shipping methods. At checkout the customer sees the services with your prices. On the order page, send the order to Click & Drop (or let a status do it); for OBA accounts the label comes back, otherwise print it in Click & Drop. Cron reads the tracking number back. Failed jobs are retried and logged.

Checkout rates from a merchant-maintained table per service (Tracked 24, Tracked 48, Special Delivery, International Tracked, International Tracked & Signed), zone (UK, EU, rest of the world) and weight band, per account in Multi-Vendor.
Orders sent to Royal Mail Click & Drop (POST /orders) from the order page, at a chosen order status or in bulk, with recipient, parcel, items, totals, service code and customs data for international orders.
Labels for OBA accounts (stored PDF, one combined PDF for many orders); pay-as-you-go accounts print in Click & Drop.
Tracking number, printed, manifested and despatched state read back into the order and a CS-Cart shipment; link to the Royal Mail tracking page.
Cancel (delete) a Click & Drop order from the order tab.
Connection page with an encrypted API key, account type, Click & Drop service code mapping read from the account, and a connection test.
Job queue with retries and back-off (HTTP 429 included), cron (command line and secret address), log viewer with CSV export.
Tested on Multi-Vendor 4.17.2. First release.
Does it work with CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor?
Yes. In Multi-Vendor the marketplace owner can use one Click & Drop account and one rate table for everyone or let each vendor connect their own.
Which CS-Cart versions are supported?
4.17.2 to 4.21.x.
Why do I enter the prices myself?
The Click & Drop API creates orders and labels but offers no rate quote. The add-on therefore prices checkout from a table you keep in line with your Royal Mail price list. It never shows a price that Royal Mail calculated.
Do I need an OBA account?
No for sending orders to Click & Drop and reading tracking back. Yes for labels returned through the API (a Royal Mail rule); pay-as-you-go merchants print the label in Click & Drop.
Is there a test mode?
Royal Mail provides no sandbox. Use a Click & Drop account you are happy to create test orders in, and cancel them from the order tab.
Where is my API key stored?
In your own database, encrypted. The key is derived from your store's secret in config.php, so a database dump alone does not reveal it. It is never shown again after saving.
Does it send data to Kavio Labs?
No. The add-on talks to Royal Mail only. The license check sends your domain name to the Kavio Labs license server once a day (Kavio Labs downloads).
What happens when Royal Mail is down?
Jobs fail, wait and are retried automatically (5 minutes up to 12 hours). While a Click & Drop order is active for a CS-Cart order, the add-on does not send it again.
What happens when the license expires?
New work stops: no checkout rates and no new orders sent. Work already under way (the queue, tracking) is still finished.
