Shipping & Payment Restrictions for CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor

What it does

CS-Cart can only link payment methods to shipping methods. Shipping & Payment Restrictions adds real rules:

For CS-Cart, CS-Cart Ultimate and Multi-Vendor 4.17 to 4.21.

What it changes for your store

Stop risky cash on delivery orders and shipments a carrier refuses.
Customers see why a method is missing instead of asking support.
Rules are checked again when the order is placed, so nobody can bypass them.
Hidden carrier methods are removed before live rates are requested, which saves API calls.
Staff can still choose any method when they edit an order.
Vendors manage restrictions for their own shipping.

How it works

Admin

Open Shipping & payment rules, pick the methods, the action (hide or always show), the priority and an optional message, then add conditions from a list and choose whether all or any must match.

Shopper

At checkout the hidden methods are not listed and the message explains why; if the selected method becomes unavailable, the next one is selected.

Multi-Vendor

Conditions can look at each vendor's package or at the whole cart, and vendors create rules for their own shipping in the vendor panel.

License check. Enter your license key (or CS-Cart Marketplace license number) on the new License tab of the settings. The add-on verifies it with cs-cart.kaviolabs.com when the key is saved and then once a day, only from the admin panel or cron, never on storefront requests. The license covers the domain entered at purchase and all its subdomains; local development hosts are always allowed.
License card at the top of the add-on page, visible on every tab: the status in color (valid, development host, pending or grace period with the days left, Marketplace number pending verification, or switched off: not activated, invalid key, revoked, domain mismatch, not verified), what is switched off in plain words, the licensed domain, the result per storefront, the end of the updates period and the last and next check. Actions: Enter/Change license key, Check now, Manage license and, without a valid license, Buy a license. A cron entry point checks without the admin panel.
License badge next to the add-on name in Add-ons → Manage add-ons (for example License: Valid or License: Pending · 9 days left). Only administrators who may manage add-ons see license information; vendors never do.
License status bar on the add-on's own admin pages (rule list and rule editor): a small green chip when the license is valid, or a banner with the status, what is switched off and the actions.
Without a valid license for the store's domain, the rules are no longer applied (customers see every shipping and payment method, no restriction messages, no order is refused by a rule); the admin panel shows a notice on other admin pages (the add-on page shows the card and the add-on's own pages the status bar instead). Checkout keeps working, and rules, messages and product tags are kept. New installations and upgrades from 1.0.x work for 14 days before a key is required, and if the license server cannot be reached the add-on keeps working for 14 days.

Tested on Multi-Vendor 4.17.2, CS-Cart 4.17.2, Multi-Vendor 4.21.2. No breaking changes.

Rules that hide shipping or payment methods at checkout, or keep them as an "always show" exception, decided by priority.
17 condition types: subtotal, order total, weight, number of items, products, categories (with subcategories), product features, product restriction tags, vendors, customer user groups, shipping country, state, zip/postal code patterns, selected shipping method, day of the week, time of day and date range; match all or any.
Translatable customer messages under the shipping and payment methods at checkout.
Server-side check at order placement: hidden methods are refused even with a forged request.
Restriction tags field on the product editor.
Multi-Vendor: package or whole-cart scope for shipping rules; vendor rules for their own shipping in the vendor panel.
CS-Cart Ultimate: rules for all storefronts or for one storefront.
Setting to apply the rules to orders created or edited by staff (off by default).

Does it replace the core "Payment dependencies" add-on?

No, both can be active. Payment dependencies links payment methods to shipping methods; this add-on works after it and can only hide more methods. The Selected shipping method condition covers the same need with a customer message and other conditions combined.

A method is still visible. Why?

Check that the rule is Active and Apply the rules is on in the settings.
Check the conditions: with All conditions match, every condition must be true. Subtotal and order total use the primary currency.
Another rule with a lower priority number may match first with Always show.
In Multi-Vendor, package-scope conditions look only at the products of that vendor.
In the admin panel (order editing) the rules apply only with Apply the rules when staff create or edit orders.

The customer sees "no shipping options". What happened?

Your rules hid every shipping method for that order (or package). Add an Always show exception or adjust the conditions. The order cannot be placed without a shipping method.

Can a customer bypass a rule by sending a different payment or shipping id?

No. When the order is placed, the chosen methods are checked again on the server and a hidden method is refused.

Which time zone do day and time conditions use?

The store time zone from Settings > General.

Which address is used for country, state and zip code?

The shipping address the customer entered at checkout, or the store's default location before an address is entered (as CS-Cart does for shipping rates).

Is the subtotal before or after discounts?

The subtotal is the sum of the product prices as shown in the cart (catalog promotions included, order discounts not included). Use Order total for payment rules that should see the final amount.

Do vendor rules affect other vendors?

No. Vendor rules apply only to the vendor's own package and only to shipping methods available to that vendor.

Is it compatible with the full page cache of 4.21?

Yes. The add-on only works on the cart and checkout pages, which are not cached.

My rules stopped working and the admin panel shows a license notice.

Open Add-ons > Manage add-ons > Shipping & Payment Restrictions > Settings > License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. Your rules are kept and apply again as soon as the license is valid. See License.

Does the add-on work on my staging copy?

Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, .local, .test) are covered by the same license.

What happens if your license server is down?

Nothing visible: the add-on keeps the last verified result and keeps working for 14 days while it retries. The admin panel shows a notice from the first failed check.

Does the license check slow down my checkout?

No. The check runs in the admin panel or from cron, once a day. The storefront only reads the stored result.

What is removed on uninstall?

The rules, messages, product restriction tags and settings. Shipping and payment methods are not changed.
