Vendor Table Rate Shipping: overview1 of 17
What it does
For Multi-Vendor marketplaces whose vendors ship themselves. The core rate editor works one rate area at a time and vendors find it hard, so they leave shipping to the marketplace or charge wrong prices. This add-on gives every vendor a spreadsheet-like rate table per method (Standard, Express, local courier): destination rows with postcode patterns, ranges by weight, subtotal or items, delivery times, free shipping over an amount, handling, minimum and maximum charge and product or category surcharges.
How it works
A vendor creates a method, picks the rate basis and fills the rows; the most specific matching row prices the order. Each table-rate method is a normal CS-Cart shipping method of the vendor, calculated by a shipping service for each vendor's part of the cart. Orders, invoices, taxes, free-shipping promotions and payouts stay standard. Administrators publish templates, lock methods and see the report. No storefront templates: works with any theme and the full page cache.

Table-rate shipping methods for Multi-Vendor vendors: rate rows by country, state and postcode patterns, ranges by weight, order subtotal or item count, per-unit charges, delivery time per row or method.
Free shipping over an amount, fixed and percentage handling fee, minimum and maximum charge, product and category surcharges.
Spreadsheet-like editor (row tools, Enter navigation, paste from spreadsheets), CSV export and import (replace or append), cart tester with the matched row and price breakdown.
Templates published by the administrator and copied by vendors; access for all vendors, selected vendor plans or administrators only; method locks; limits for methods per vendor and rows per table; taxes for new methods.
Report of the methods in use with orders and shipping charged in the last 30 days.
"Table rates" shipping service: every method is a core shipping method of the vendor, calculated per vendor package; core taxes, free-shipping promotions, orders and payouts stay standard.
Domain-bound license check and self-healing upgrades.
Tested on Multi-Vendor 4.17.2, Multi-Vendor 4.21.2. First release.
Does this replace the core shipping methods?
No. Table-rate methods are added next to the vendor's other shipping methods and the marketplace methods you share with vendors. Customers choose one method per vendor as usual.
Why is a method missing at checkout?
No row of its table matches the destination and the package value (weight, subtotal or item count), the method is disabled, or the vendor's plan has no access (see Configuration). Use Test a cart with the customer's destination to see which row matches.
Do free-shipping promotions and coupons work?
Yes. A core promotion with the "Free shipping" bonus for the method makes it free, like any shipping method. The method's own Free shipping over amount works independently.
Are taxes applied to the shipping cost?
Yes, the taxes of the core shipping method. New methods get the taxes from the Taxes for new methods setting; change existing methods on the core shipping method page.
Which weight unit is used?
The store's weight unit (Settings → General, for example lbs or kg). Products without a weight count as 0.
Can a vendor see or change another vendor's table?
No. Vendors see only their own methods; every page and action checks the owner.
Can I manage all vendors' rates myself?
Yes. Set Who may manage table rates to Administrators only, or lock single methods. Administrators open and edit any vendor's method.
What happens when I disable the add-on?
Table-rate methods are not offered at checkout while it is disabled; vendors' other methods keep working. The tables are kept.
What happens if the license lapses?
Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), vendors and administrators cannot change rate tables, import CSV files, apply templates or use the cart tester. Checkout keeps charging the last saved rates, so no vendor loses shipping. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Vendor Table Rate Shipping: the License card at the top says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it on the License tab and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, .local, .test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days are the editor functions switched off until the next successful check; checkout is never affected.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse or check out.
Add a released add-on to this order and save 15% on it. It uses the same edition and store domain.
