What it does
For stores that ship from Germany with DHL. The add-on offers DHL Paket, Kleinpaket, Europaket, Packstation and Postfiliale as shipping methods, with the price you set on each (flat or by weight, per country), and connects them to your own DHL business customer account: developer portal app, business customer user and billing numbers. DHL has a sandbox for testing. Production needs a DHL business customer contract, which this add-on does not include.
How it works
Enter the API key and secret of your DHL app, the business customer user and your billing numbers, test the connection and set a price on each shipping method. The customer picks a Packstation or Postfiliale from a search at checkout. In the order, Create label sends the shipment to DHL and stores the label. Tracking follows by cron from the DHL tracking API. Failed jobs are retried automatically and listed in the log.

Initial release: DHL Parcel DE Shipping API v2 (Post & Parcel Germany) integration for orders shipped from Germany.
Shipping services DHL Paket (V01PAK, and V53WPAK DHL Paket International outside Germany), DHL Kleinpaket (V62KP), DHL Europaket (V54EPAK), DHL Packstation and DHL Postfiliale / Paketshop, with the customer price (flat or by weight), free-shipping threshold, countries and weight limit set on each shipping method.
Packstation and Postfiliale search at the checkout (Location Finder - Unified API); every selection is validated on the server with GET /locations/{id}; the location and the Postnummer are stored with the order and shown on documents.
Shipments from the order page or at an order status: recipient, street and house number split, weight in grams, optional parcel size, billing number per product, shipper from the Connection page, cash on delivery in Euro, enclosed return label (DHL Retoure), age check, no-neighbour delivery, GoGreen Plus and customs data outside the EU.
Labels in PDF or ZPL2 in the print format of your choice; return label, COD label and customs document stored as further documents; label fetched later with GET /orders when the creation answer has none; shipment number and tracking link on the order and in a CS-Cart shipment.
Close-out (manifest) of selected shipments, daily manifest PDF, cancellation before the close-out.
Tracking with the Shipment Tracking - Unified API (parcel-de) by cron; Multi-Vendor owner mode or one account per vendor.

Which countries does it cover?
Shipments from Germany. DHL Paket, DHL Kleinpaket, Packstation and Postfiliale deliver within Germany; DHL Paket to other countries is DHL Paket International (V53WPAK), DHL Europaket (V54EPAK) is for business customers within Europe. Outside the EU customs union the add-on sends the customs data (one line per product, values in Euro). DHL decides which countries and services your contract includes.
Do I need a DHL contract?
Yes, for real shipments: a business customer contract (EKP and billing numbers) for DHL Paket, a business customer user of the Post & DHL Business Customer Portal and an app in the DHL developer portal. DHL's sandbox works without a contract, so you can test everything first. DHL approves the production environment after a successful sandbox run. The add-on is not a DHL service and does not include a contract.
Do I get the real DHL price at checkout?
No. The Parcel DE Shipping API has no price endpoint: your prices come from your contract. You enter the price you charge on each shipping method: a flat price or a weight table, with an optional free-shipping threshold.
Is there a sandbox?
Yes: api-sandbox.dhl.com with test business customer users and test billing numbers. The Connection page has a Test and a Live set of credentials and billing numbers.
Does it send the recipient's e-mail address and phone number to DHL?
Not by default. Turn on Send e-mail and phone number to DHL only when you have the recipient's consent (Art. 4 No. 11 GDPR). Within Germany the API takes no phone number; the e-mail address is used for the DHL parcel notification. A Postfiliale order without a Postnummer needs the e-mail address, which is then sent.
Can the customer choose a Packstation?
Yes. The customer searches the locations around the shipping address (DHL Location Finder API) and enters the DHL customer number (Postnummer), which a Packstation needs. DHL only addresses German Packstations and Postfilialen directly.
Does it support multi-parcel shipments?
No. The DHL API creates one parcel per shipment; it has no multi-piece shipments. An order is one parcel with the combined weight.
Does it work with CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor?
Yes. The add-on supports CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor. In Multi-Vendor the marketplace owner can use one DHL account for everyone or let each vendor connect their own (own billing numbers and shipper address).
Which CS-Cart versions are supported?
4.17.2 to 4.21.x.
Where are my credentials stored?
In your own database, encrypted. The key is derived from your store's secret in config.php, so a database dump alone does not reveal them. They are never shown again after saving.
Does it send data to Kavio Labs?
No. The add-on talks to DHL only. The license check sends your domain name to the Kavio Labs license server once a day (Kavio Labs downloads).
What happens when DHL is down?
Jobs fail, wait and are retried automatically (5 minutes up to 12 hours). A shipment is never created twice: the order has one active shipment.
What happens when the license expires?
New work stops (no new shipments, rates or labels). Work already under way is still finished.
How do I get updates?
Install the new package over the old one. See Installation.
