What it does

For stores that send catalogs to buyers, sales reps or trade customers: wholesalers, brands, distributors and B2B shops. Pick categories or products, a layout and whose prices to show, and the add-on builds a print-ready PDF with your logo. Customers download it from a catalog page or a block; trade line sheets only for the user groups you choose. Works on CS-Cart, CS-Cart Ultimate per storefront and Multi-Vendor, where vendors make catalogs of their own products.

How it works

Products, PDF catalogs, Add catalog. Choose categories, hand-picked products or the whole store, the order and grouping, a layout (2, 3 or 4 columns, list or line sheet), page size, colour and cover texts, then whose prices to show and which columns. Save builds the PDF. Set a rebuild interval; the server cron or admin visits keep it current. On the storefront the catalog page and the block list the PDFs each visitor may download.

Does it use an external PDF service?

No. The PDF is written by the add-on in PHP on your own server. Product data does not leave your store.

How long does a build take?

On our test store a catalog of 39 products with a cover took about 1.4 seconds and a 60-product line sheet about 3.4 seconds. Time grows with the number of products and the image resolution.

How big are the files?

Mostly the product photos: about 1.3 MB for 39 products and 2.1 MB for 60 products at 600 px on our test store. Choose 400 px in the settings for smaller files, 900 px for print.

Which prices are shown?

The prices a customer of the chosen user group sees, including catalog promotions, in the chosen currency. Quantity discounts and cart promotions are not shown.

My language uses a different script

The embedded font covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic. Other characters print as "?".

Can customers share the file?

Yes, once downloaded a PDF is a normal file. Restrict trade line sheets to the right user groups and add a validity note in the footer.

Are links in the PDF tracked?

When Add campaign tags is on, product links carry utm_source=pdf_catalog&utm_medium=catalog&utm_campaign=<catalog name>, so your analytics shows visits from the catalog.

The catalog is empty

The build stops with "No products match the catalog settings". Check the categories or products, the In stock only option and that the products are visible to the chosen price group.
