Compass is a storefront theme for stores whose shoppers know their need but not the product: supplements and wellness, personal care, pet food, coffee and tea, skincare and baby care.
Four styles change the whole consultation: Sage (warm paper, teal, peach highlighter), Clinic (white and navy, lettered answers), Pet (chunky and casual) and Roast (dark espresso and copper).

How it works
Install the package in Add-ons: it adds the Compass theme without touching your storefront. Activate Compass in Website, Themes and pick a style. The next admin page adds the demo store with a ready quiz, so every section is filled at once.
Edit the quiz as plain text in the block: each answer names a category or a product feature value. Shoppers answer and see matching products at once.

1 production installation; subdomains, staging, dev and localhost are free. The theme checks its license for your domain once a day from the admin panel. The footer "About us" column no longer shows the placeholder street address, phone number and e-mail address of the standard CS-Cart layout; it now carries a short neutral store text and the "About company" link.
Upgrading also replaces that text in the footer block of an existing installation (a block you edited yourself is left alone).
Rebuilt on the current theme kit (1.2.5): the generated theme files pick up the shared kit fixes; style presets look the same.

Do I have to set up a quiz?
No. Without a quiz block (or with an empty one) the homepage starts with the trust line and the goal index; everything else works. The demo content comes with a ready quiz that you can edit or delete.
How do the questions find my products?
Each answer names a category or product feature values (see Usage). Compass looks the names up in your catalogue once and caches the result; the matches are your real products with those values, sorted by popularity, with the visitor's prices.
A product matches but does not appear.
Check that the feature value is set on the product (Products → the product → Features), that the product is active and in stock (or that out-of-stock products are shown in your settings) and that the answer's feature name is spelled as in Products → Features. Names that were not found are listed in an HTML comment in the page source of the homepage.
The "See all matches" link shows more or different products.
The link uses your product filters (features_hash). When a feature of the answers has no active filter, it uses the search results with the same feature values instead. Create a filter for each quiz feature for the best result.
Does Compass work with my add-ons?
Yes. Compass is a child of the standard Responsive theme and uses the stock product forms, cart block, filters and checkout, so add-ons that add buttons, labels or checkout steps keep working. Our own add-ons are styled to match every Compass style.
Is Compass only for health stores?
No. Any store where shoppers need help to choose fits: pet food, coffee and tea, skincare, baby care, sports nutrition, lenses, bikes or mattresses. Use the Pet style for pet shops and the Roast style for coffee and tea.
My product photos have a white background.
Keep the setting Blend white product photos into the round image lenses on: white backgrounds blend into the tinted lenses. For the best look use cut-out images with a transparent background.
Does the theme work with the full page cache?
Yes. The quiz block holds only catalogue data (questions and resolved IDs). The matches load in the browser from a private request; the basket count comes from the core cart block.
The offers countdown does not show.
It only shows when a product is in a catalog promotion with an end date. Compass never shows an invented timer.
